Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal. With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually.

The watch has its original blued steel hands The white enamel dial is in nice condition. The acrylic lens has some light surface marking from use although hardly noticeable. The case has minor surface marking from use but overall it is in nice condition. The case is gold plated and is the Star model made by the English based watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The watch measures 50.7mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover. The movement is stamped 15 jewels, 3 adjustments, Swiss made, and the Cyma calibre number 999a. Two things, if you have any information on modern CYMA pocket watches I would very much appreciate it, and second would be your opinions as whether to keep it as is (with the battery out and no service) or to get it serviced (cleaned and oiled). This particular watch has a Cyma stem-winding movement, which is working nicely. The outside back of the case is engraved so there is no information to be found there. I have attached a photo of the face, but I was unable to get a photo of the inside because I didn't want to cause any damage by opening it myself. The inside of the back case is patterned somewhat like hammered metal. It also has all of the original parts, marked as swiss, and the battery has not leaked/corroded (thank goodness). I took it to the local watchmaker to get a condition on it, and it appears to have never have been serviced or cleaned before. My father got it as a father's day gift in 1988 for his first father's day. It is a modern CYMA and I cannot find any information on it. Greetings! I have recently inherited my father's pocket watch.
